Tibi Ellis is the President and CEO for Home Helpers, a homecare provider and Direct Link, a personal emergency response company serving the elderly, convalescing and disabled in Las Vegas.

Tibi is an experienced healthcare executive. During her career, Tibi has provided leadership that delivered the accomplishment of a mission, firm values and business strategies in complex environments. Her diverse experience encompass acute care, ambulatory services, long term care, ancillary services and provider relations in for profit and non- profit healthcare organizations.

Prior to Home Helpers, Tibi was the CEO for Chesapeake Management, a government and private sector vendor that provided its clients with organizational assessments, strategic planning, group facilitation and the development and implementation of training programs. Through the GSA MOBIS contract and under Tibi’s leadership, Chesapeake Management provided support services such as compliance plans, coding, independent review services and audits as well as services such as operations reengineering, performance improvement services , benchmarking, fraud, abuse risk assessment and consulting services for government organizations.

Tibi was born in Venezuela to a family of successful professionals and active political operatives. She lived in New York during her early childhood later arriving in Ohio where she pursued her college education. Tibi’s career has taken her to Indiana, Tallahassee, Miami and Key Biscayne, Florida, before arriving in Las Vegas in 2000 with her husband Jeff and five children. Over twenty five years of experience in the healthcare industry have provided Tibi with the broad, acquired knowledge necessary to mentor and help other healthcare professionals.

Tibi's informed opinion is sought by business and political leaders when they want to make the right decisions. She has a unique understanding of the country.

Tibi has become an integral part of the Las Vegas community and is a sought-after speaker in the area of healthcare, elder care, care giving and the aging. She has served as an Adjunct Professor at several academic institutions and is a respected member of the Latin Chamber of Commerce. Most recently she was awarded Senoras of Excellence for Nevada and was a Fellow with the Silver State Excellence in Public Service Series. Tibi was also appointed by the Governor as a general public board member for the Psychological Board of Examiners in Nevada.

Tibi has been a lifelong activist in government and political movements, beginning as a young child in Venezuela with the landmark Presidential election when she was only 18 years old. Increasing voter participation and the accountability of government has been a pursuit of Tibi’s for over three decades.

Political advocate - Tibi was the Chair and spokesperson for the Nevada Republican National Hispanic Assembly. She was also instrumental in founding Latinas in Politics and is the immediate past chair for the group.

Tibi works very hard at reminding her fellow Hispanic-Americans that her party is not only the party that has a consistent commitment to preserve their values, but also tirelessly endeavors to ensure that the Hispanic community continues to have equal opportunities and active participation in politics and the success of our country. Her relationship with the community allows her to bring balance and be a conciliator in issues of interest to conservative in Nevada. Her mediation skills have proven important in bipartisan dialogs.

Business advocate - She is an advocate for Hispanic business owners and the preservation of Hispanic family values as the number one priority together with the exaltation of faith. During the 2011 Nevada legislative session, Tibi worked with businesses and legislators to protect the citizens of Nevada during the difficult economic environment by educating both the community and the elected officials on important areas of business and healthcare.

Community advocate - Tibi’s work with the poor through the St. Vincent de Paul Conference in Las Vegas takes her beyond helping people in her parish. In her personal time, she assists those in need who are living alone, are fragile or ill and those who have no family to hold their hand at the time of their death. Her compassion for the elderly and disabled drives her commitment to serve those in need in our community.

Tibi’s partnership with Nevada Senior Advocate was instrumental in the protection of Nevada seniors and businesses that provide services to the most vulnerable population in the state..

 

 


Tibi serves on the Board of Trustees for CornerStone Institute, Nevada Executive Healthcare Forum, a chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives and The Leukemia Lymphoma Society. She is a member of the St Vincent de Paul Society, a charitable catholic organization. She holds an Executive Master degree in Business Administration and a Master degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Colorado, Denver. She is a Certified Senior Advisor and is pursuing completion of a Chaplain Certification.

Tibi was appointed as a general public board member for the Psychological Board of Examiners in Nevada.

Politically, she has been involved in grassroots locally and at a national level, forming the Nevada Republican Hispanic Caucus in 2007 and founding in 2008 the national grassroots Latinas for McCain. She is currently the national secretary for a national political Hispanic organization.

Tibi enjoys a nice golf game with friends, plays guitar, plays “cuatro” a four-string instrument, rides her bicycle on the weekends with her husband and is an avid reader.
